Written May 2025: Jeremy Thorpe was awarded a Charles Allan Seymour Hawker Scholarship in 1992 and attended St Mark's College whilst studying Law and Economics, also spending a year in Canberra cross-institutionally Law. This study formed a basis for Jeremy’s interest in public policy and the relationship between business and government.
Jeremy started his career in the Commonwealth public service in the Industry Commission and then the Commonwealth Treasury. From there he moved to the private sector. Initially Jeremy helped establish the boutique economics and policy firm, The Allen Consulting Group, in Sydney, ultimately leading its government consulting team.
He then joined PwC as a Partner in 2007 before retiring from the partnership in 2024. Living at various times in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, Jeremy held a range of roles in PwC, including Canberra Managing Partner, leader of the national Economics and Policy team, and Chief Economist.
Jeremy is currently the Australian Managing Director at Bondi Partners, an advisory and investment firm which sits at the critical intersection of policy, politics, and the private sector, with a particular focus on assisting firms navigate markets and governments in Australia, the US, the UK and Japan.
He is currently studying a PhD in Law part-time at the University of New South Wales.
