The application window for the 2025 Hawker Scholarships
opens Mon 18 Nov 2024 and closes 5pm, Mon 6 Jan 2025
The Charles Allan Seymour Hawker Memorial Scholarship.
Tenable only at one of the following Universities and affiliated Colleges:
- The Australian National University – Burgmann College
- The Flinders University of South Australia – St Mark’s College
- The University of Adelaide – St Mark’s College
- The University of Adelaide – Roseworthy Campus
- The University of Cambridge – Trinity College
- The University of New England – Robb College
- The University of South Australia – St Mark’s College
- The Marcus Oldham College
Preference will be given to applicants with aspirations to enter public affairs, politics, community service or any other such activity considered beneficial to Australia. The tenure of the scholarship is determined by the Trustees and is normally for three years.
Value: College fees to a level as determined by the Trustees, up to $75,000 over three years.

You cannot proceed through the application form without first attaching a copy of your:
- Academic Transcript; and
- at least two written references
(at least one reference must be from your School or University and at least one from someone who can comment on your leadership and community service, ideally outside of your School or University. The contact details of two referees must be included to allow the Trustees to make further enquiries.)
Accepted file types: jpg, png, pdf, doc, docx.
Max. file size: 2 MB.
You will be also be required to complete a 1200 word personal statement as part of the application form [not a separate attachment] giving further information about your background, reasons for studying the course you have chosen and your envisaged future career. Interest (if any) in public service or politics, hobbies and any other matter which you think may be of interest to the Trustees could also be included. The word limit will not accept more than 1200 words and spaces and does not allow formatting other than paragraph breaks.
You will be able to save your application part way through and continue at a later date. You will be provided with a link to access your application in progress. The link will be valid for 30 days or until you have submitted.
