Hawker Scholar: 2002 – 2005

Min Guo

Min was awarded a Hawker Scholarship in 2002, and studied at the University of Adelaide, residing at St Mark's College. He graduated in 2007 with First Class Honours in both a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Laws.

In 2003, he was awarded a Centenary Medal for service to youth and the community.
While at university, he served as Vice President of the Adelaide University Union. In his college life at St Mark's, he captained the college team to an undefeated season in the intercollege debating tournament in 2005 and also served as the Treasurer of the College Club. He also served in the senior roles of Assistant Dean and Senior Tutor, and was awarded colours for debating and academics.

After graduating, Min worked for the Australian management consulting firm Port Jackson Partners. He moved to Maurice Blackburn in 2010, and has continued to work there as a solicitor in the niche field of class actions. He remains actively involved in the community, through social justice and asylum seeker projects.

He has served as a director of the philanthropic group the Foundation for Young Australians for six years and was the founding President of the Hawker Scholarship Alumni Association.
